Ouroboros Stop!
A downloadable game for Windows
Controls, features, and Tips:
Left Mouse Button is how you interact with everything.
Right Mouse Button/Clicking on the Clipboard is how you pull up the instructions. -Doing this doesn't pause the game, so you need to be fast.
Middle Mouse Button/Escape is how you pause.
You can play the entire game with just a mouse if you wanted to, a keyboard is not needed.
For each next level you need to reach a certain score in the previous level. There isn't a way to see the score you need to get to for the next level, but do not worry because the max score you need to get to the next level will always be under 40.
Optional: You can print out the Instructions onto paper by pulling up the clipboard and clicking on the "Print Out" Button (in purple). Then right clicking on the file in the newly opened folder and printing it. It is recommended that you play with the instructions on a piece of paper but it is not necessary. If you don't have a printer but want to have the instructions on a piece of paper, then you can look at the clipboard and write the instructions on paper. Or if you can't be bothered, you can always just use right click to toggle the clipboard up and down.
This is my first full completed game. The time constraints of the jam helped me stay on track and finish it which was a big help.
To fit in with the game jam theme, I used Ouroboros and repeating actions to incorporate loops.
- Ouroboros is a snake (or sometimes dragon) that loops around and eats its own tail. For this game you are trying to stop Ouroboros from doing that, but eventually he will.
- The repeating actions are performed by flipping switches, pushing buttons, and rotating dials to make the robot arm move. And you cannot do the same command twice in a row, so if you need to rotate in one direction for a bit you'll have to loop commands and the movements to the correct buttons, switches, and dials.
